Record keeping is about much more than software. Through annual plant record conferences, team coaching and training we support botanical gardens in professional record keeping in the broadest sense.

Plant Records conference

Since 2014 Botanical Software has organized collection management workshops and plant records conferences.
The annual Plant Records conference, first introduced in 2016, focusses on community driven problem solving. Contributors are encouraged to present the challenges of daily record keeping and to invite other participants to share their ideas and solutions. Many of the discussions and presentations extend beyond software specific functionality. We feel that inclusive collection management is important and our ambition is to make this conference a platform for everyone involved in record keeping. We specifically encourage contributions from horticulturists.

Save the date: 11& 12 May 2020. 5th Plant Records Conference in Mainz, Germany

Coaching: Record keeping is team work

We believe that keeping records of your plant collection can be more effective if horticulture staff are involved in the record keeping process. However, many institutions indicate that it can be a challenge to integrate horticulture staff into this process.
We offer a coaching session for horticulture staff to stimulate their involvement in record keeping activities.
This coaching session is suitable for gardens with a documented, living plant collection and is independent of the software being used.
